“RED DOT DESIGN AWARD” TO SAECO’S TALEA TOUCH

Talea Touch, Saeco's automatic espresso coffee-making machine for home use, with the Milk Island, a special accessory able to transform milk into a soft froth, has won the prestigious 'red dot' award for design excellence. The 'Red dot design award' is one of the most noted international awards in the design sector, and has been supported since 1955 by the Essen Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (Germany) and yearly assigned to products that stand out for innovative design. An international jury of top experts in the sector has this year evaluated 2,458 products from 43 countries.
The initiative concludes with an official ceremony for the consignment of the awards, to take place in Essen on 25th June 2007, and the inauguration of a large exhibition of the winning products. Talea with Milk Island will thus have a place in the 'Red dot design museum', the largest exhibition of contemporary design in the world.

Talea
The Talea series and the special Milk Island accessory are part of the range of completely renewed automatic machines presented by Saeco last autumn.
The consultancy group, BMW Group DesignworksUsa, was responsible for drawing up the design of the new line of products, together with Saeco.
Rounded forms, recognisable details rendered more precious by the materials used, clarity and simplicity of operation, together with the technological innovation distinguishing Saeco's products, render these machines unique in the sector.
The ergonomic design has been studied in every detail and responds to practical as well as aesthetic requirements, to ensure convenience for the correct use and maintenance of the machines.

The Milk Island, enabling a coffee to be made into a cappuccino, is an external unit comprising a thermal container that can be connected with the steam tube, and is the latest exclusive novelty in the Talea range, satisfying all the demands of cappuccino enthusiasts and lovers of frothy milk.

The Touch Screen, a simple and intuitive control panel, the SBS (Saeco Brewing System), an elegant group handle for an intense, creamy coffee, the Touch Lift, a cup tray that can be adjusted according to the height of the cup used, and the ceramic coffee grinder, preventing a contact between coffee and metal, are just some of Talea's other unique features.
